Get to Know UC San Diego Series

The Get to Know UC San Diego Series aims to introduce UC San Diego services and programs to new Tritons. Students who attend each session will get a stamp on their participation card and can enter the card for a raffle. Cards can be picked up at the Centro. All sessions will take place at the Centro. Session descriptions listed below: 

Tuesday Sept. 23, 10am RRC Open House and Student Org Fair Join us at the Raza Resource Centro Open House and Student Org Fair! Explore our space, meet our staff, and connect with Latinx student organizations to find your community on campus. This is the perfect way to kick off the quarter, discover resources, and get involved.
Friday Sept. 26, 12pm Writing Collective The Raza Community Writing Collective is a community space supported by the RRC Learning Specialist to connect undergraduate and graduate students to campus resources and to cultivate our academic sense of belonging.
Tuesday Sept. 30, 1:30pm Cal Fresh Info session Stop by the CalFresh Mini Clinic to get help with your application and learn more about eligibility and requirements. Your access to food matters! Understand your benefits and make sure you have what you need to thrive this quarter.
Wednesday Oct. 1, 2pm Student employment information session Curious how a part-time campus job can launch your future career? Join our Student Employment Program Info Session to discover how on-campus jobs at UC San Diego do more than help you earn money—they build valuable, transferable skills that employers want. Learn how student employment can accelerate your career readiness, giving you the confidence and experience to land your first job after college.
Tuesday Oct. 7, 1pm Imposter Syndrome Transitioning from HS or a community college can be overwhelming, bringing up feelings of uncerteinty. Dr. Araceli Lopez from CAPS will do a guided workshop on tools and resources for overcoming negative emotions and challenge energy into positive actions of academic success.
Wednesday Oct. 15, 2pm Study Abroad Study Abroad Get Started Session: An overview of UC San Diego's study abroad programs and considerations to make when planning to study abroad.
Monday Oct. 20, 1pm El Lonche! Join the Centro student staff for some lonche, some chisme and the end of the series raffle!
