UC Insights

UC Insights is an initiative by the Raza Resource Centro, in conjuction with Admissions, APIMEDA, Black Resource Center and InterTribal Resource Centro. The program aims to support UC bound students who seek support in the writing portion of the UC application, most commonly know as UC Insights. The Raza Resource Centro supports the yield and access of latinx students and their equity in obtaining higher education.

The Centro will sponsor a two part series of UC Insights, a writing workshop and a reading workshop. The writing workshop will consist of a writing jam lead by RRC career staff and UC San Diego students to study and analyze the key components necessary when writing a statement. The reading workshop will consist of students providing their written statements to be analyzed and critiqued by UC San Diego admissions counselors.

Students attending the program have a higher percentage into being accepted into UC San Diego. Please note that attending the program has no guarantee into being accepted into UC San Diego or any other UC school.

  • Students must be applying to the UC System for the academic year of 2018-2019.
  • Students must commit to attend one of the two writing workshops in order to attending the reading session (must register to attend. Form will be available on Wednesday Oct. 18, 2017).
